1. What secondary effects does this type of surgeries have, specifically the Gastric Band?
R.- In Generally is well tolerated, is the surgery with less complications. The material is essentially and it does not cause any reactions to the tissue.. 2. How painful is the recovery after surgery? R.- Because surgery is performed via laparoscopic, small incisions, the post surgery related pain is minimal and recovery is very fast . 3. In average, how much weight will I loose? R. - It’s acceptable to loose an average of 50 to 75% of the overweight, this is a positive response to this procedure, but if the indications are followed closely the weight loose can be more. . 4. What’s the estimated time endure the surgery? R.- The related surgery time is around 1 hr but to follow the preparing protocol including anaesthesia and instrumentation it could be 30 minutes more. . 5. How long will I stay in the hospital? R.- Generally around 24 hrs. 6. What I have to do to prepare for surgery? R.- Lab tests, and physical evaluation of a physician is needed to determine if there’s no contraindications for surgery or anaesthesia. . 7. After how many days I can go back to my normal activities? R.- Its depends on the type of activity, commonly it’s recommended an 8-10 day rest period. . 8. How and after what time can my surgery be programmed? R.- Once the surgeon performs the initial evaluation the lab results, RX´s and the physician’s evaluation it could be programmed . 9. If I’m from another city, how many time I have to stay in Mexicali and how many times I need to come for follow up? R.-The stay is an average of 2 days; this is considering the pre surgery tests a day before or the same day of surgery. Depending on the evaluation follow up appointments are needed for test revision and band adjustment.
